Federal Government makes new announcement concerning Sim card

It is no more news that the federal government of Nigeria suspended the registration of new SIM cards last year December.
The barring of SIM cards led to several reactions as many Nigerians questioned the federal government’s goals decision to stop the enrollment of SIM cards.
As the enrollment of new Sim card were suspended, the federal government asked Nigerians to link their SIMs to their National Identification Number.
Nevertheless, the federal government has made a new announcement concerning SIM cards.
The Federal Government on Thursday said the issuance of new SIM cards will resume on April 19, “as long as verification is done and the guidelines are fully adhered to.”
The Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy communicated in a statement signed by Femi Ademiluyi, a technical aide to Minister Isa Pantami.
The government suspended the activity in December 2020 as it began on an audit of the Subscriber Registration Database.
All Nigerians who desire new Sim card can apply for it as from April 19.
